In the realm of cinema, where small-budget films often struggle to make a mark, Anjali’s ‘Geethanjali’ emerged as a triumphant exception back in 2014. Not only did it carve a niche as a box-office sensation, but it also pioneered a new wave in the horror-comedy genre. Fast forward to the present, and the buzz is all about its eagerly awaited sequel, ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’.

Produced under the banners of Kona Films Corporation and MVV Cinemas, this sequel marks a significant milestone in Anjali’s illustrious career, being her 50th film. It’s no secret that ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’ is being crafted with a lavish budget, staying true to its roots in the horror-comedy domain.

The advent of the new year 2024 has been celebrated with the unveiling of a special poster. The first look is captivating, featuring Anjali in a Kuchipudi stance, set against the eerie backdrop of a crumbling edifice. This tantalizing glimpse has undoubtedly set the bar high for this horror-thriller.

Picking up the narrative thread where ‘Geethanjali’ left off, the sequel promises to be a pan-Indian phenomenon, releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The ensemble cast includes stalwarts like Srinivas Reddy, Satyam Rajesh, and Shakalaka Shankar, among others, ensuring a blend of terror and humor.

A noteworthy addition to the cast is Malayalam cinema’s Rahul Madhav, making his Telugu debut. The story, set in the vibrant locales of Hyderabad and the picturesque Ooty, has commenced shooting and is progressing rapidly.

Kona Film Corporation, renowned for nurturing emerging talent, introduces Atlanta-based Shiva Thurlapati as the director, known for his work in ‘Ninnu Kori’ and ‘Nishabdam’. With music by Pravin Lakkaraju and cinematography by Suhatha Siddhartha, the film is poised to eclipse its predecessor in the horror-comedy genre.

Backed by producers MVV Satyanarayana and GV, and the creative genius of writer Kona Venkat, ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’ is on track to be another cinematic landmark, resonating with audiences across India. The industry is abuzz with anticipation for what could be the next big hit in the horror-comedy arena.
