Mammootty, renowned for transforming the concept of celebrity over an illustrious career that spans over fifty years, is ready to captivate viewers as a formidable character in his next movie, Bramayugam. This film is the brainchild of Rahul Sadasivan, known for his work on “Bhoothakalam,” and is produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios. It is scheduled for a worldwide release in Malayalam on February 15.
Initially planned for a simultaneous release in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil, Bramayugam will now debut solely in Malayalam due to the audience’s overwhelming desire to watch the film in its original form first. The filmmakers agree that starting with the original version will likely resonate more with viewers and are confident it will mesmerize everyone, regardless of language differences.
The dates for the release of Bramayugam in other languages will be disclosed soon by the film’s producers. Set in Kerala during a time rich with magic and mysticism, the plot follows a royal singer who, after escaping a slave market, finds himself in an enigmatic mansion. The decision to shoot and present the film exclusively in black and white was a bold artistic choice.
The trailer for the film was unveiled in a lavish event in Abu Dhabi, attended by Mammootty and the film team. It teases a riveting blend of suspense, mystique, and cinematic excellence, without giving away the storyline. The movie features Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz in significant roles.
Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth produced Bramayugam, with dialogues by T D Ramakrishnan. Shehnad Jalal (ISC) is behind the camera, Jothish Shankar handles the art direction, and Christo Xavier, whose music has already gained popularity, composed the film’s score.
